A New Abode

A New Abode

Washed up by the tide, a large shell has become stranded on the golden beach. This roomy shell quickly draws the attention of a group of hermit crabs who are costing the beach for a new home. A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Hermit Crabs, shells and sand were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
