A New Abode
Washed up by the tide, a large shell has become stranded on the golden beach. This roomy shell quickly draws the attention of a group of hermit crabs who are costing the beach for a new home. Using their antennae, they size up the shell to determine its potential, before lining up in size order to swap abodes.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Hermit Crabs, shells and sand were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
Measures: 41cm x 22cm
Framed it measures: 53cm X 33cm X 2.5cm.
This piece has been professionally framed, with a white mount and white box frame, with glass. It is ready to hang.
