A Woodland Greeting
Under the hood of a spotted Magpie Mushroom, a toad takes shelter. With the cushioned mossy floor beneath him, he pauses, when he spies a head poking down from the mushroom above. Curious he watches as the snail slowly reveals itself and they come face to face.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the toad, snail, mushroom and moss were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery and textile techniques.
