The strawberry patch often gives shelter for this hedgehog underneath its green leaves, it finds comfort on the softly cushioned bedding of fresh straw. Today a rare tasty treat is install for this unexpecting hedgehog, as the ripening strawberries are at their juiciest. Draping down with the weight of the plump berries, they rest on the straw beneath his feet. Ripening in the evening sun their aroma fills the air, leaving the hedgehog in a mouth-watering state on anticipation.

A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the hedghog, strawberries, and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques. These techniques create the different textures from the spikes of the hedgehog to the juicy strawberries.
