Hazelnut Harvesting
The food passageway of the Dormouse is the beating heart of this harvesting Dormouse. For a long hibernation is approaching and there is much to be collected if he is going survive the winter. Luckily the Hazel tree has formed many nuts this year, giving much need subsistence.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the mouse, leaves and nuts were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery and textile techniques.
