Hide And Seek
Sauntering over the uneven surface of the pebbled beach, an Oystercatcher is busy seeking his next meal. Aware of the approaching danger a fearful Hermit crab start to retreat back into its shell. Staying concealed amongst the washed-up seashells and is its best chase of survival, in this deadly game of hide and seek.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Oystercatcher, Hermit Crab, shells and stones were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
