After a precarious, prickly climb through the holly tree, this woodmouse rests a moment upon a bare stem. She stoops her bottom down and wraps her tail around to achieve balance on the sagging branch. As she does she gazes down at her reward, sweet, ripe holly berries.

A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Mouse, stem, leaves and berries were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery and textile techniques.
