Searching the sandy shores this pair of Spoonbill Sandpipers comb the beach to find a prize amongst the tides offerings. The young chick is keen to learn, and the loving father is enthusiastic to share, so the hunt is on to find a whole shellfish.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Sandpiper, shells and sand was achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
Framed it measures 42.5cm X 33cm X 2.5cm.
