On The Watch
Clasping and woven into the branches of a woodland tree, Ivy has spread. So full with berries, it has grown towards the light and now its stem hangs heavy with ripening fruits. A frequent visitor to its stems, a robin perches upon it, already full from the ivy berries its rests contently.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the robin and ivy and berries were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, beading and textile techniques.
