Prickly Perch
The ripening berries of a holly tree turn from shades of corn yellow to scarlet. As they do they catch the excitement of a ravenous Greenfinch, who lands upon this prickly perch to feast on ripest of berries. A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Greenfinch, stem, leaves and berries were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery and textile techniques.
