Taking A Dip

Taking A Dip

The only way theses frogs can cool down on such a warm sunny day is to take a dip in the crystal clear waters of the pond. Having made their way through the duckweed and reeds, they can finally plunge into the refreshing water. Diving and bathing they find great pleasure in the water.

A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the frogs, reeds, and weed were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques. These techniques create the different textures from the skin of the frog to the bubbles in the water.
