The Forager

The Forager

When the woodland leaves turn to a sea of amber and rust it is time for this Red squirrel to make a food cache. Having secured some delicious Chestnuts, it now time to harvest and dry some tree fungi. What better specimens are to be found than on this silver birch?

A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the red squirrel, silver birch, and fungi were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
