The Humble Bumble
Often overlooked as a weed, the dandelion stands proud and bright in our gardens and the wild. Its yellow flowers are like a beacon to this grateful White-tailed Bumblebee who finds its succulent nectar a food staple throughout the year. So excuse the weeds we're feeding the bees.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the bee and stages of flowers were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques. These techniques create the different textures from the flowers to the delicate bee wings.
