Autumn's Little Architect

In the golden hush of autumn, a robin perches at the heart of a curling fern, its beak cradling a tuft of moss like a promise. All around, the fronds spiral inward like gentle flames, sheltering this quiet moment of purpose and peace.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Robin, fern and moss were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
