The Spirit Of The Moors

Through the drifting morning mist, a horse and foal run freely across the ancient moor, their hooves carrying them over stone and wild green slopes. With the vastness of the tors opening before them and the wind rushing through their manes, there is nothing to hold them back, only the wild landscape ahead and the freedom to run.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Horses, rocks, and grass were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
