The Taste Of Sunlight

Drawn by the sweetness of sun-ripened fruit, the hare stretches eagerly through the strawberry plants, pausing only long enough to savour another juicy bite. Around him, ripe red berries glow among pale green fruits and curling leaves, a rich tangle of summer abundance beneath the warmth of the season.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the hare, strawberries and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
