A Peaceful Moment

Balanced gently upon the tall cowslip bloom, the swallow rests for a fleeting moment beneath an endless blue sky, while fresh flowers unfurl below in quiet celebration. Surrounded by blossoms both opened and waiting, the little bird seems to carry the softness of the season itself — light, hopeful, and full of movement yet to come.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Swallow, cowslip, and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
