Where We Belong

Beneath the sheltering roots of an ancient tree, a mother rabbit gathers her two little ones close, nestled together amongst fallen leaves and the tiny treasures of the autumn woodland. Beyond their quiet refuge the countryside glows in russet and gold, but here, tucked safely beneath the old tree, they have everything they need: warmth, love and one another.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the rabbits, tree, toadstalls and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
