Autumn's Little Secrets

Three mischievous squirrels have discovered that an autumn pumpkin makes for a rather tempting feast. While one cheeky little culprit has already begun nibbling its way inside, another keeps watch for any approaching danger, while the third leans over the pumpkin with wide-eyed curiosity, seemingly wondering just how on earth his friend plans to eat his way through it. After all, autumn treasures are far too tempting to simply leave untouched…
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the red squirrels, pumpkin, and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
