Beneath the Elder’s Gaze
Perched in the quiet hush, a robin tilts its head toward the hanging elderberries, its beak parted as if in anticipation of sweet juices. Around it, the branches sway with the weight of dark fruit, an offering of the season's final sweetness.
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Robin, elderberries and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
