The Dance Of The Swallows

Above the quiet river, three swallows sweep and turn through the warm summer air, their wings catching the golden light as they twist and glide together in effortless flight. For just a fleeting moment, they dance above the shimmering water, carried by the breeze and the instinct that will soon lead them towards distant skies, but for now they are simply free.
 
A number of techniques were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Swallows and reeds were achieved through embroidery.
