Feeling Crabby

Even the smallest of sea creatures like this young crab, can find joy in floating with the current of the soft tide. Happily bodding along, it isn't long until he is accompanied by a small shoal of fish. Unfazed by his presents, they seemingly dance around him, as they do their scales glisten as they catching the light.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the crab and fish were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and three-dimensional techniques.
