A Brambling Song

In a tangle of blackberry brambles, where fruit and flowers intertwine, a wren perches high singing its heart into the morning air.  The wren's song weaves through the thorns, filling the wild hedgerow with its beautiful melody, below a tiny ladybird rests listening.

A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the wren, blossom and berries were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.

This piece has been professionally framed, with a white mount and white box frame, with glass. It is ready to hang.
