A Frogs Pilgrim

As the air warms, the sun becomes higher in the sky, bringing spring and, so with it starts the frog's pilgrim. Every spring thousands of frogs leave their overwinter homes and journey back to their birthplace to reproduce. At their journey's end, these two frogs climb the stems of the hedgehog reed. They wrap themselves around the lush green stems, resting and overseeing the peaceful waters.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the frogs, reeds, and flowers were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
