Autumn Glow

Resting in the setting sun, this Blue Tit perches upon the throngs of an autumn fern. Its leaves were once strong, have turned crisp and bend with his weight, lowering him into the autumn glow.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Blue Tie and fern were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
