Drenched Majesty

On a drizzly day, a magnificent kingfisher perched on a dried-out leaf by the riverbank. Its azure feathers glistened with raindrops, and the leaf became its throne of drenched majesty. Amidst the rhythmic symphony of falling rain, the regal bird embraced the moment gracefully as the rain bounced from its head.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Kingfisher, leaf and rain were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
