Mum Knows Best

Venturing out of their warm home this mother Hedgehog and hoglet are exploring the forest floor and learning valuable lessons. Clambering up a small rock this mother Hedgehog calls and encourages the tentative hoglet to follow. 
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the hedgehog, leaves and rock were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
