Fruitful Cuddle

Beneath the amber hues of a medlar tree, a wood mouse has discovered a haven in the form of a luscious medlar fruit. With a heartwarming embrace, the mouse curls its tiny form around the fruit, a picture of snug contentment amidst the seasonal bounty. In this enchanted tableau, the wood mouse becomes a guardian of autumn's treasures, a miniature custodian cradling the medlar in a gentle embrace.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the wood mouse, medlar and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
