Beauty Of Holly

Hanging from the branches of the holly tree, its fruits have been ripening over the autumn. As the season turns colder, a patient Robin waits for its fruits to ripen and turn to a beautiful shiny red. Finally, they have and he sees juicy fruits ready for eating. 
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Robin, berries and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and three-dimensional techniques.
