Meeting At The Petals Edge

Perched delicately at the very end of the lily of the valley's bending stem, a ladybird senses the approaching threat of the determined snail inching its way towards it. With wings poised for flight, the ladybird knows that escape is imminent, its colourful armour is ready to carry it to safety. 
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the snail, ladybird and flowers were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.

This piece has been professionally framed, with a white mount and white box frame, with glass. It is ready to hang.
