Mum's Pride And Joy

Amidst the soft blush of newly opened dog rose petals, a mother Wren perches with a tender offering clasped in her beak, her bright eyes watching as her fledgling calls in eager anticipation. A mother's pride is shown in the joy of a moment of devotion, where love is measured in the simplest of gifts—a meal, a lesson, a promise of growth. 
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Wren, leaves, and dog rose were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
