Natures Opium

Amidst opium poppies, a charming pair of wrens share a moment of connection. One perches gracefully on a bloom, sending delicate petals cascading below, while the other looks up, their eyes meeting in an enchanting exchange.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the wren, poppies and seed heads were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
