Petals and Spots
Amid the soft chill of winter, a ladybird rests delicately upon a snowdrop, its scarlet shell vivid against the fragile white petals. The gentle curve of the flower cradles the tiny visitor as if nature itself pauses to marvel at their quiet.
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Ladybird, toadstool and cobweb were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
