Soul Of The Moors
Curled upon the timeworn spine of a moorland wall, the young fox rests with eyes gleaming, its fur warmed by the soft Dartmoor sun. Behind it, the rolling tors and distant fields stretch out like an old song, as lichen creeps gently over stone and the wild holds its breath in peace.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and embroidered, the Fox, wall and lichen were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
