Spring’s Quiet Observer

Perched atop the rugged rock, the shrew gazes out as if it holds the secrets of the blooming world below. Nestled at its base, tender primroses unfold their buttery petals, their quiet beauty a celebration of spring’s gentle awakening.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Shrew, rock and Primrose were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
