The Gardeners Friend
Curling and wrapping itself around the handle of a garden folk, ivy entangles itself into the garden. As much part of the garden, a Red Breasted Robin perches happily upon the folk handle. He watches the gardener awaiting the presents of worms and cheerfully sings in anticipation.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Robin, leaves and berries were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
