Treasured Moments

A proud male Goldcrest has been busy gathering food to provide for his growing family. With a beak of fresh worms for its young, he perches upon the stem of the oak tree where his four newly fledged eagerly await him.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Goldcrests, branches, leaves and worms were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
