Weaver Of The Valley
Amidst the delicate branches of the red dogwood, a long-tailed tit weaves together its new beginning, crafting a nest from moss, lichen, and cobwebs, as the valley below stirs to life with the murmurs of a river. With each soft thread, the tiny bird is cradling the promise of a future, watching the unfolding world from its quiet perch.
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Long Tailed Tit, dogwood and nest were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
