Where the Seeds Carry Him
Light as breath and small as a whisper, the harvest mouse rests among the drifting seed heads of old man’s beard, trusting the hedgerow to hold him. In this suspended moment, he is carried not by weight, but by the gentle balance of wind, stem, and silvered seed.
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Harvest Mouse, seedheads and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
