Where Wildflowers Dream

The tiny harvest mouse clings to the slender stem of a bluebell, its delicate paws wrapped around the gentle curve as it sways ever so slightly in the morning breeze. Surrounded by a sea of violet blooms, the soft purple light of dawn bathes the scene in a dreamlike glow as if nature itself is holding its breath to watch this daring little adventurer explore its floral kingdom.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the harvest mouse, flowers, and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
