Wilderness Whispers

With vibrant feathers shimmering in the sunlight, a majestic kingfisher perches on a cow parsley flower. Balanced effortlessly, she gazed down mesmerized by the rippling currents, she contemplated the hidden wonders that lay beneath the serene facade.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Kingfisher, leaf and blossom were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
