Winter Cover

Happily hopping through the dry grassland meadow, this handsome hare is feasting on its seeds and vegetation. When she catches a tasty smell in the air that perks her interest. Breaking cover she lifts herself to her hind legs and smells the air with delight.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the hare, grass and wildflowers were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
